Who here used Harley credit and didnt need a down payment?

The dealer told me as long as my credit score is in the top to tiers i wont need one.

So would that be a 680 or higher?

Me. But if you can swing it, I'd put some $$$ downanyway. Will lower your payments and principle, thus lessening the total amount of interest accrued over the finance term.

At the time of my purchase in 2003, the deposit was strictly for holding the bike for me...there were only two ordered by that dealer and there was a wait list in case either one of us backed out of the deal. Then I had the option to take my deposit back when the bike showed up or leave it as a downpayment on the bike. I added more cash and used it as a downpayment.

I didn't put anything down on my 07'. 3 weeks later, after I had sold my other Harley, I had $7,000 in profitand used it torefinance at a local CU at a lower rate. My credit is excellent, but have never actually seen the score itself.

Zero down loans put you upside down on the loan as soon as you drive away from the dealer. Not worth it to me.

Got my 08' SG two weeks ago with nothing down........I had all intentions of paying it off by Feb.1, 08. I just made 100% sure there was no penalty for early pay off of the loan. I will just hit them with 5K a month for the next 4 months and be done with it.
