Hello I have a 2006 xl custom and it seems to run rough in the cold
north east 40 to 50 degree temprange. Is this common or should I do something B4 the riding season here ends which is soon?
Is your bike carbed? Mine is and when the temps start to drop, she'll start belching carb fartsmore often. It only does it at low speeds.Otherwise it pulls strong through all the gears. There's no hesitation at all.I'll tell you one thing. She runs a little rough until it's fully warmed up.Doesn't quite like the cooler temps at first. The carb farts are normal. What exactly isYOUR bike doing?
I use regular oil from the dealer bike only has 4000 miles and it was 34 degrees this morning riding home
and it's a 40 mile ride one way, the bike warmed up when the sun came out this morning at 50 dregees, I hope you don't get too suntaned today.

You might want to put in synthetic at the next change. It is good for the bike, and worth the money. I have a carb on my rk custom, and I can't say it runs all that different in colder weather. It is 38 now, in NM, but during the day it is in the 60's. I let my bike do a nice warm up before I start out. Besides, I need the time to suit up, LOL. I swear, being in NM has spoiled me. I was born in KY, and when I first moved here (a looong time ago), I didn't even wear a jacket during the winter time. LOL Now, I bundle up like I am traversing the great winter wilderness, even just going to get the mail, LOL. [8D]
