You have to let her try! I did when my wife wanted to,she was not the least bit comfortable,so she is now very content just to be on the back.Good Luck

Only to my granny, and I wished I had it to do over again. One of the few things I regret!

My wife has been riding about a year, she is on my old sportster. The only time I say no in regards to riding, is when she asks to ride my bike.

At 52 my wife decided it was time to ride her own. In 4 years she has about 75,000 miles, 47 states, all of New Zealand and part of Australia. She just finished Canada and the Alaska Highway this summer. I do have some comments:

Buy her a mid weight Metric cruiser, used. When she gets comfy, sell it for a few hundred less than you paid. She is not going to want to drop a 20-30K Harley. Drop a 750 Honda and it pops back into shape and so do you.

Do not teach her yourself, evenif you have been riding 100 years and have just been named World's Best Biker. Being a wife, she actually thinks you are close to being an idiot now, don't go prove it.

Once she learns, make her ride with more than just you. If its just you, she can lay off the curves and make all kinds of excuses not to push herself. This will PO you, and she will get PO'd, then the whole nasty Divorce thing. The peer pressure of the group will make her push herself. Try to keep her away from riders who do not know how to ride, but feel free to tell her all the mistakes she is making. Try to pick someone that knows what they are doing and she likes to give her tips on things she is doing wrong. See above for you doing that-the Divorce thing. ( For all you, ride at your own pace people, that's great for you, be happy. For people who want to ride, learn to ride the bike)

Just my opinion, its worth what you paid for it. If you want a better opinion, send money.
