First off, glad the wife is ok. Secondly, sorry that the Ultra was damaged.
However, it's all replaceable and thank goodness for insurance!
A couple of years ago, somebody backed into my bike in a parking lot with me standing about 10 feet away from it. Did $2400 dollars worth of damage. After the shock wore off, I realized I could get a better exhaust and the rear fender with the chip in it would be replaced.
I'm glad everyone is allright. I see this can obviously result in some humerous comments but you're wife has a need for alot more practice on the school yard, etc. before riding on the street.
Hay, take picture, document it all and keep the entire scrapbook handy for your beer party laughs.. As said before, it's only tin that can be repairedbut some things even Master Card can't buy...!

This is the part that really puzzles me because she has been doing very well riding, and has ridden with me extensively. I'm really baffled.

Maybe wify was riding a little "too" well and was trying to impress you with a wheely
I'm glad that both you and the wife are not hurt. Just get her back on the horse before she decides to give up riding.
Damn, Peekaboo,
Glad no one was hurt. I noticed you used the term, "brain fade".I believe for us guys,it's "brain fart". It's funny how sometimes people, when excited proceed to do the exact opposite of what logic would dictate. She probably can't even explain why. Take pics for Ins co., ...ya know, those throttles have been known to stick,.....just sayin.......
I stood and watched my dad cream my 69 ss396 Chevelle in our driveway one winter. I feel your pain.
That's what insurance is for, and it's good to hear she wasn't hurt.
