need some help here.
I'd like to get a louder sound than stock outta my 07 rkc. Don't wanna spend a fortune doing so. I'm thinking about some Rush slip ons, stage 1 and k&n cleaner. Any other advice is much appreciated.

Define what you mean by "spending a fortune." If all you're going for is sound, all you need is muffler change out probably. Stage 1 is really for a significant change in exhaust system with O2 sensors--sort of like I did with my Rhinehart TD, Stage 1, and A/C.K&N cleaner will help breathing, butnot sure you need Stage 1 for that if you're just looking at slipons. Depending on how mechanically inclined you are, dealer will be doing the Stage 1 and that won't be cheap.
I'll defer to the experts here, but that's just an opinion.

My brother and I bought our bikes at the same time, his is an '07 RK and mine is an '07 Heritage. He's in Texas, I'm in Florida so we had two different dealers.
He went with Vance & Hines Ovals only and is happy, no AC upgrade or stage one. I on the other hand went with Rush Slip-ons, SE AC and Stage one download. I got a lot of backfire and popping on decel and ended up with a SERT and a Dyno tune.
I'd say do like my brother did and start with only the slip-ons and see how it works out. After that it gets costly.

If you are just looking for more sound, keep your stock A/C and go with some slipons. Then you probably won't have to mess with the ECM. Change the A/C and you will get better performace but you are going to need a map or buy a tuner. Rush sounds pretty good. Nice deep rumble. I just put some V&H's slipons on mine and they sound great to me. Everything else on the motor, including the A/C, is stock and she runs great and sounds great.

I just put Rush pipes (2 inch baffles) on my 2007 Heritage this weekend. Great sound!! Big improvement over stock!! Took about 35-45 minutes to install. The hardest part is taking off the old pipes - they were stuck and I had to work them back and forth to get them unstuck. Had to break out some WD 40 and it helped. After that, 5-10 minutes later, I was listening to my new pipes!! No decel pops, just good sound. Now it sounds like a Harley!!
