Default clarification

Just to clarify (ad nauseum) a STAGE ONE upgrade is a fuel management system of choice and a high flow air fliter. Slip on's are NOT needed, correct?

others will answer im shure ,I think you might want to do all three though. I added better sounding(not loud) pipes as well to maybe balance off the deal as well. ^air=^fuel=^exhaust

All three makes a stage one I think. Sounds like you have a stage 3/4. I could be wrong though.

To the best of my knowledge a Stage 1 consists of: High Flow Air Filter along with freer flowing mufflers (more air in-more air out) and also an EFI fuel map change or carb re-jet, whichever pertains.

Just check the Parts catalog for the "official" answer to your question. Page 517 in the '08 catalog. If you can figure out Harley's definitions, please let us know!

Lots of different engineupgrades are classified as "Stage 1," including stroker kits.

Yes all three are needed for stage 1, also known as the Harley Tax.
