Default really bad cage driving

when i am riding my scoot i am really paying attention (vast majority of the time) to other vehicles, their location, speed, possible intent. i am watching for possible accident situations. i am watching the road for debris, cracks, etc. i attempt to forsee possible scenarios, etc.

when i drive a cage, totally different situation. have been better since i got the bike. but i still am not as cognicent as when riding. in the cage i use my cell, have been know to txt msg, eat, drink, get dressed, change clothes and drive without corrective lenses.

have occassionally found myself in a cage in some comprimising situations completely my fault.

so i ask you all out there - how are you in a cage - have you used the cell, daydreamed, in other words have you not paid attention to driving like you should. do you have a different personality on a bike then in a car/truck.

kinda like "we have me the enemy and he is us"

incidentily my last auto accident was 20 years ago hitting ice on a bridge spinning out and totallying the car. all other accidents were over 30 yrs ago when screwing around like doing donuts on icy side streets - teenage junk. so yeh - some of it is just knowing how to drive and being respectful of the job at hand.

I scare my girl friend more when I srive the cage.

I agree, I've gotten better since riding. More aware. I also tend to drive slower now. If I want speed I take two wheels...

Still probably drive faster than I should, deffinitally less aware of what's going on... all those walls, and a roof, WTF?

Yea, smoking, drinking the occasional adult beverage (only 1-2 don't freakout), using the cellphone, checking out the scenery (Lots of pretty ladies here in GA), eating, and did I mention I do this in my cage too?!?!?

Nice honest/refreshing thread here.

I bet more people fall into this category than would admit. That is one reason I roll my eyes at all the threads full of hypocrites claiming to assault and destroy property of those inattentive drivers they encounter.

I have all of those bad habits. But I don't cause accidents. Some people can multi-task, others cannot.

Yep, I do it. Try to limit what I do and when. I like to do it when a little safer such as stopped at light or no traffic around.
