I have a old HD leather jacket that has faded to a real light greyish
almost white on the shoulders,,,,dealer told me, HD would replace it,
but I would have to send the jacket back!!
NO WAY,,, to much history!
If you're a bar hopper, then by all means go for that worn out crusty biker look with your leathers. However, if you actually "ride" and do any touring, keep your leathers conditioned at all times. Well conditioned leathers will repel water, bug guts and road grime. It's been my experience that you get wetter by pulling over out in the open and trying to get into your rain gear once the rain starts rather than riding on with treated leathers.
My old lady is very old school and she is treating them today. Just curious as to how everyone else did their's and knew I would get some very different ideas here.Everyone needs to have a little fun.

I will second the protective factor of well conditioned leather, just rode in a cloud burst yesterday. I got a little wet at the jacket cuffs that was it.
