Default 2-1 headers

Here's my dilemma. Not only are there no 2-1 headersonthe market that I really like the look of, they all seem to be a compromise in some way too. Meaning, they don't tuck in close enough or just generally lack in design. Nothing hard core enough for my tastes. Does anyone here feel the same way? Don't tell me what you bought and how much you like them, I don't care! I've looked at them all and I've bought quite a few too. I don't get a woody for any of them. I'm not saying there aren't some good company's making pipes, there are. I'm only talking about thelooks and design...

Do you think there's any room in the market for a headermaker with something new to offer?

I have to agree I really don't like the looks of two into one
that said I have had slip on , drag pipes (my fav.) but for sound and power 2 into one is the best. yes I wish somebody would make agood looking pipe that didn't cost as much as a bike...

I with ya. I have been looking at performance pipes lately, and don't see nothing I like. I will probably leave a few ponies on the table, and go with the bassani prostreets. If I can find a used set at a good price, I will look into adding a collector making it a 2-1 pipe. Kinda like the one in the pic.
I am also not a fan of slash cut tips, just give methe straight cut.

It's kinda hard to get across what I'm trying to say, so let me try this. When I look at a major bike componentpart it has to be perfect in the sense that you would be motivated to build an entire bike around that single piece. I'm not talking about buying something because you think it will necessarily make your bike look better, that's always subjective. I would however be motivated to buy a product that was built within a few millimeters in all the critical places and if it fit and registered into the heads and other locating pointslike a glove. How about you? Of course, looking good too for a fair price

I agree with you that many aftermarket parts appear to just be bolted on and "hanging" there. The sound may be OK but the design is lacking. I love the look of duals on a deluxe but cannot get away from the ugly left side as it wraps around everything...talk about not flowing with the bike....A lot of 2-1 are worse so yeah.....feel your pain.

Then ultimatley, you'll have to go someplace that will custom bend a 2-1 header to your liking.

I've been researching mufflers for about a year now and I came across a guy in Canada who's got a patent (sound cancellation) on some he's building for autos that I think would be nice for bikes because they are small enough to be incorporated into a normal size collector. I've also talked to a few tube bendersabout what I have in mind. I would build my own fixtures and do the welding though because I'm really picky for fit and finish. Probably first start with Dynas, only because that's what I have right now.

I'm just not sure what you can do. You only have limited room to deal with on a 2/1 pipe. You can slash up or down or straight, maybe tuck it in a 1inch here or inch there but really what else can you do? So is that worth the cost?
