OK guys, I'm having a manly image dilema... [sm=headbang.gif][sm=helpout.gif]
Is it just wrong to wear a back pack to carry small items on occassions ?
Here is my issue....
I don't have saddle bags and I haven't had had the opertunity to get a sissy bar and luggage rack for the sporty yet.
I'm not sure if I want bags to clutter the looks of the bike either, so would carrying a back pack be all that wrong ?
I've seen rocket riders wear them now and then, but never on a Harley...
The problem is, their are times that I need to carry some items that just can't be strapped to the back of the seat and what about the times when I need to carry some rain gear on a ride...
Honestly I don't want to look like an idiot... but I need to be able to carry items at times.
Would it be all wrong ?
Tenn is right, question is do you need it? If yes then who gives two crapps what someone else thinks? Now if your backpack is Flaming Pink Kangaroo with a blue tail...well maybe then its a small issue.
I have a bright red backpack that I use to carry bulky items. Some people may say, "Look at that f***ing idjit with the backpack." But they NOTICE you which in my book is a plus.
Do what you want to do, wear what you want to wear, just get out and ride!
Heck, I have a back pack that I put my dog in, and my wife wore it (as you can see in the avatar pic) when we would take the pup because we didn't have a rack on the Sportster.
the other day it was cold 40 degrees but sunny, decided to go for a ride; I have one of the last american made harley leather jackets. but guess what?? it isn't that warm. I decided to wear an old ski jacket; after checking to make sure it was not rubbing the tank with its zippers, I was off. Fashion statement hell no, but I was warm...works for me. wear what you want.

Before I got my sissbar and sissybar bag, I carried my stuff in a backpack. Like the others have said, who cares what anyone else thinks? I needed to carry some gear and the backpack was the only way I could. In fact the only thing that bugged me about the backpack was that it was uncomfortable.
I had a pink sleeping bag strapped to my sissy bar on the way to Sturgis in 2005. I had to use my daughters as I did not have one. People that have a problem with that can bite me. Nothing worse than a conforming non-conformist.[:'(] People that matter, don't mind and people that mind, don't matter.
