I bought a KZ750 in 1981 with my brother, HE bought a GS1100E. We studied the book at the DMV, in line, waiting to take the test and passed. I guess a MSF course would do me alot of good. Things have change alot except the fun of riding a motorcycle Tim

When I got my first motorcycle, all that I had to do was go to the DMV and pass a motorcycle written and riding test then they just gave me an endorsement. It was simple, I had been riding for awhile before I went to the DMV

Lisence with endorsment via MSF course, The way to go! Got an education, and a lisence. As a new rider with a big bike, it really helped alot.

I took the MSF course, so all I had to do was take the written exam to get my motorcycle endorsement. I'll probably take the advanced course this spring. I should have close to 10,000 miles by then!

I took the MSF experienced rider course and got my endorsement here in WA. I am signing the better half up for the basic course to get her endorsement so she can ride her Christmas present a 2006 1200 Custom in chopper blue.

I have my endorsement and recently took the MSF course at Ft. Leonard Wood. The base safety office offers it free of charge.

Took the written portion at the DMV and got my learner's permit. but in IL that only allows you to ride during daylight w/ another motorcycle rider with you. Was riding around like that waiting for my MSF course and asked TerryT about the penalty in IL if I got caught (since he is a LEO in IL, but different city). He accused me of being like Mikey in American Chopper so shamed me into taking the test.
I don't know why, but at 57 these "tests" make me more nervous than when I was much younger. I took the test at the DMV and was so nervous, I first started at the wrong end and then misunderstood the instructor, had to re-do part of it, then laid it down and broke my foot.
3 weeks later, I laced my broken foot up in a boot and took the MSF on the 2 night a week plan, so it took me 2 1/2 weeks and passed it on Memorial Day and went down to the DMV and got my endorsement the next day.
Aside from being compared to Mikey, what scared me the most was if my insurance would pay if there was an accident.
BTW, My regular Dr. was on vacation, so I chose another Dr. in the same office who I knew rode a Harley. Told him the truth, but told the ins. co that I fell down the stairs.
That's my story and I'm stickin to it when I'm drunk or feeling real honest. Tonight I just feel like being honest. Art
