...before you leave on a ride? The thought came over me today while I was just checking out a road in North Georgia to see where it went. Other than commuting and group rides (like charity rides or PGR, etc.) do most of you plan where you're going to go, or just start riding and see where the road takes you?
If I'm heading to a specific destination and time is important, I usually stick to a planned route. If time is not as important, I take all sorts of detours. If I'm just riding, I usually haven't the slightest idea where I'm gonna end up, and there's been numerous times I ended up a long *** way from home with no daylight left. That's my idea of a good day of riding.
