Default Help Wanted-Audio Questions

I hope someone here can help with my questions. I have a Kenwood stereo installed on my FLHTPI with 4 speakers. I have a Kenwood 400 watt amp to install. My questions are: If I am running the set up at low volume is the amperage draw also low? I only need the extra power at highway speeds and am concerned that when I am at a red light (lower volume level) that I may be drawing to much from the electrical system. My bike does have 45 amp output, but I am guessing that not at idle. If I will be drawing to much power at idle with low volume is there a way to put a switch in to bypass the amp and just use the radio power?

Thanks!!!
