RE: Remember those less fortunate...
I, and my kids always toss our change into the bell ringers pail when we pass them at the grocery stores, malls, etc.

For the rest.....I paid my taxes this (and every other) payday so they are covered too.

I refuse to die and have the Lord say to me " I did not know you "

If in your entire Life you can make a difference in one persons life. Then it was a life well lived. Many times you may make a difference and never get to see the reward. But trust it will be given to you.

1 John 3:17-18

If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.

One thing that homeless shelters could always use is socks.

Also just FYI the Salvation Army is one of the better places to give money to. (in my mind) I know Goodwill and others to some great things. BUt if you just go off of the percentage that comes in that goes to the people they are trying to help. The Salvation army is at the top of the list with like 85 to 93%. I can't remember the website but it had a list of charities and what percentage went to helping people, but I understand that that their is a need to pay good money to get good people to make decisions but their should be limits to what some of these CEO's make.

As for the nay-sayers Isee your side as well. I work in theghetto and see all types: people struggling and people who justare chasing a high. I will say I am seeing younger and younger people on the side of the road andnone of them have got a dime from me.Who knows what a persons motives or lack of motives are.

Nice try at a Ben Franklin quote.

If you are gonna troll, at least use proper English, and know what you're talking about.

RE: Remember those less fortunate...
IcemanVA,

I agree with you totally. Thank you for typing what I was thinking. We bikers that have the pleasure through our resources to afford a bike shouldshare just a little of our wealth. Toys for tots, Childrens hospitals, VA Hospitals, Homeless shelter, Feed the hungry, Charity rides for the sick, Charity rides for the dead, MORAL SUPPORT BY VISITING THE LONELY/ELDERLY and other charities. Some groups just want our company and get a lot of enjoyment in seeing us drive up on our loud/pretty motorcycles. Not preaching but Charity is in the bible and one of the most important things we can do. For the nonbelievers YOU could be that person in need one day. I heard a song by a country artist that talked about the guy giving to another guy that was a homeless person. He once had a family, respectable job, and the good life but doesnt have anything now. Personally speaking even though I have never had a family the rest almost happen to me. That charity you share could have been to me. It could be to you if fortune turned its head.

OK I am done mouthing off.
