Funny thing is, the guys that are saying nothing are probably the ones that do the most, all the time, not just on holidays. The little random acts of kindness that encourage the 'real homeless' to pull themselves up and actually make a real go at it, and succeed, instead of making them think America is all about a free ride.

BTW I have been homeless, more than once.
Poor decisions, and poor choice of location at the wrong time.
I was used to working for $17 and hour, but worked for $5 an hour when it was necessary, cause I don't like to be a bum.
Slept in my truck for a month and a half into june in Phoenix, used a truck stop shower, or my cousins shower, but I finally got out of the rut.
I know where some of these guys come from, and I also know that some of them have absolutely no idea what it is to be homeless, but stand out there with dirty clothes and a sign claiming to be homeless when they're not.
And then there are the ones that got burned, for a lesson in life or whatever reason.

Not downing anyone for helping someone that appears to need it, but also not downing someone that isn't supporting a perfectly capable and healthy lazy *** bum either.
I just figure if someone can stand on the ramp and beg with a signin the afternoon, then he can get up and beg for a job to people going to work early in the morning, and earn the money. Mind you, I'm addressing the phoneys, and not the real unfortunates.
