Thank God the little tire genie rolls the new crated bikes back and forth before they get shipped off to the dealers...

If it sits long enough it will flat spot. They should work out after a couple of miles.
Wouldnt hurt to put max air pressure in over the winter and roll her around once in awhile.

I think it would have to sit in excess of 10 months for that maybe to happen.

Sorry not buying this. My bike sits in the same spot all Winter on a concrete floor and I don't have any problems either has my dad.
EVEN if it did happen....nevermind can't see it happening.

ok i gotta ask it cause we all have heard this,,,,if you dont jackup your bike at layup(winter) you will get flat spots on the tires. true or false
Absolutely true. And it's valid for your car as well. The tires aren't made to support the weight of the vehicle in the same position for months.
Rolling the bike a little is enough to prevent this, without necessarily jacking it up, even if jacking up the bike is definitely the best way.

The fact that you got lucky doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Temperature may be a factor: extreme cold can harden the rubber and reduce this risk, but it's not worth the chance all the same.
Any tire expert will confirm this.
I for one had problems on a car that was left there for a whole year. I had to dump the tires and get new ones.
