Had both of the bikes out today. I started out for a short ride and ended up on one of those "let's see where this road ends up" things. I was getting a little concerned when I started seeing more and more snow on the side of the road as I got up into the hills but other than the gravel that they laid down when it was icy, it was not too bad. It was a little cool, in the low 40s in town, much cooler higher up, but not too bad. Lots of bikers out today. It seemed like I was riding with one hand half of the time. Yes, I wave. I was thinking about going on that polar bear run but ended up going solo.
The only interesting event was when one idiot in a cage signaled for a left turn then went straight. Too close. Reminded me of how many morons are out there sharing the road with me.
ThreeOldGuys had a fine ride under gray skies here in Washington. After meeting up in Burlington and not counting the 15 minute ferry ride, it was about 190 miles.
[sm=icon_blah.gif]...all these new years riding threads and the weather sucks here in PA. Glad some of ya'll got out though I'm starting to feel the itch for spring but February and March are always the most anxious months.
Thats funny,
About 40 of us were out and riding here in Pittsburgh today. The two local HOG Chapters (Donora Chapter and Mon Valley Chapter) had the Polar Bear Run (We all met up at Hot Metal HD) and then went to West Elizabeth and joined in on a benefit run.
i was gonna take mine out today but it was too windy here. 45-50mph gusts plus all the gravel at the intersections isnt worth taking out a brand new bike with not even 100 miles on it yet. very sad indeed but happy new year everyone
Gave my girl a ride home today after spending new years with her! Last night was pretty good. Took the bike up the street to old tustin and found a cool dive bar to hang out at. I was the designated rider, but for bein a bit tipsy my gal was doing a pretty good job on the ride back to my place.
Was amazingly nice weather to ride in today, got to leave the jacket at home! Anubiss, I sure hope what you said is true!
Took off from West Houston and took the LONG way to Shiner Texas. Temp when we left was about 45 degrees. Round trip was nearly 300 miles. At this time of the year, I always miss my family that still lives in Ohio. Today while on the ride, I was thinking how lucky I was to be in Texas and enjoying a "brisk" ride on New Years Day with a few good friends!
