I bought the Wiley X glasses for riding in the wide open spaces and they work finebut just use my regular prescription(photo transition)eyeglasses for normal riding.Wedwards remark above about the Wiley X glasses being able toprotect your eye against a rifle (7.62X39 Ak)bullet is just not true. I wouldn't want to test that theory out.
Short of a flak vest with additional protective plates in steel or ceramic, nothing can protect from a rifle bullet, not even one in the low power range like the 7,62x39.
"Tactical" goggles are to protect eyes from minor shrapnel, debris, heat blast and such.
Even a low penetration pistol bullet like a 45 ACP would get through without much problem.
Ballistic visors exist, but are THICK, HEAVY stuff, usually worn by the second man of police entry teams.

Even so, tactical goggles are a good thing on a bike if riding visorless. I had a small pebble thrown by a rig crack the windshield of my wife's BMW. Standard glasses wouldn't offer any protection against such occurrence.

I have a pair of Panoptx Warrior prescription sunglasses which I really like. Good fit & do a goodjob of keeping out wind when used with the head strap. They also have a replaceable eyecup(s) if the foam seal wears down. I got the dark gray color. When you get on their website you'll notice they have a LOT of different kinds. I suggest contacting Rob at www.sportrx.com to pick up the right size frame for your face. Very helpful folks..

Look at http://www.guard-dogs.com/index.php
I am also using these to fit over my Rx glasses.....but there is no way you could go wrong with either Pan's or Wiley-X....they are about the top of the line for Motorcycle use.

I wear contacts when riding and no wind or irratants are important. I wear PanOptx they are the best I've found so far. I ride year round too, barring snow and real salty roads, and have tallied about 15K this year so far.

I use RayBan Baloramas and Global Vision Riders. The latter are only about 14 bucks and actually look and work great. Lots of frame and lens color options too. Kid Rock even wore them in the Jessie show where they rode to Mexico. Not that I give a **** about that, just that he can wear whatever he wants and it suprised me a little to see that he wears these.
