Stay away from the made in China Heims as they are not always consistent. Although a shift linkage doesn't take a lot of strain, so you could just shop for the cheapest you could find and risk it.
I find a lot of take off linkages at the local swap meets. I have six take offs I picked up for $1.00 each. Nothing wrong with them. If I break one now, I'm covered.
As far as buying new ones, most hot rod shops carry them.
