Too much front brake. I had the same thing happen to me last summer, in the dry.
Grabbed too much front and locked the wheel. It locked and slid. Scared the crap out of me.
Learned a big lesson. Easy on the front no matter what.

If it hadn't been that long since the rain started...it could have been either brake or trans fluid. Brake fluid is real slippery and very hard to see. It also might be the rotor is warped slightly and found a dry spot and locked a little.
Had it happen on the painted crosswalk lines while making a turn, the road had morning dew on it and those fat white lines are like a big vinyl sticker, slick as all get out! The front tire slid rightout from under methen grabbed when it hit pavement. Ifthe line had been 6" wider I would have kissed the road....

Have you used any type of tire treatment or cleaner on your tires? Little hint to ya all..........forget about those shiny side walls, it's not worth it.
The bike is a Softail Deluxe pretty much stock apart from pipes, A/C, andadd-ons.
I never touch the front brake in the bends, thesescares have all happened with straight line braking. Maybe it's the combination of the new rotors and the new lyndall pads. It certinaly never happened with the stock stuff. The Lyndall's must have a bit more bite to them.
I have also just noticed my left front fork is leaking some fluid.Would that affect things?
For all of you guys who mentioned white lines and cross walks.
My riding instuctor taught us : 'white is slippy black is grippy'. I've never forgotten it.
Thanks again folks, great replies.
