you mean somebody actually bought one of those things?[:'(]
That was visually the weirdest thing to me. The rider was decked out in such a way that he would have been perfectly at home on the new Cross Bones Softail. And there he was riding a sleek silver... thing. Maybe he was just transporting it?...
well that's just it....people talk about and have web sights about harley riders and the harley lifestyle and how harley riders allwear certain stuff trying to look badass because they are all some sort of1% wanabees or some such BS.. but Isee manypeople dressed the exact same way riding metric cruisers and tourers so what are they...harley wanabee, wanabees?
I saw a prototypeat last year's bike show in Chicago. The factory rep got a little uptight when I saidthe bike was ugly. Dude might have been on the design team. Oh well, he asked me what I thought.
I didn't see the one at Chicago too close, saw my old boss drunk as a skunk working the exhibit so I decided to pass. The next week the 2 same bikes were at Dealer Expo. Did get to swing a leg over both the basic and the full dresser. They're moving in the right direction, but I didn't cancel my Road Glide order.
I just wonder what Victory is going to do with all the Vision leftovers once the 6 people on the planet that can actually tolerate the looks of the bike buy theirs...
I got a chance to look at one the other day at the local shop. They had two, one in silver and one in kind of burgandy color. It's sort of a strange encounter. Way out there, but kind of cool in some kind of concept custom thing. I think I will stay with my FLHTC. I'm too old to change from old-school.
I test drove a Vegas 8-Ball before I bought my Dyna. It had a high-flow intake and Big Radius pipes on it. I gotta say, I really liked it; it looked good, it was comfortable, and it really hauled ***! The only thing that stopped me was..... it wasn't a Harley. I know that's kind of a stock answer, but I mean that it was built like a Jap bike, cheap controls, seemed plastic-y, it didn't have the sturdy feel or solid construction of a Harley. HD won, but the Victory was a close second.
I really love the lines of the Vegas/Kingpin/Jackpot bikes. Some of the best looking cruisers out there, IMO. I may very well end up with a Vegas in the garage at some point.
But I think it was "swing and a miss!" with the Vision. Cudos for trying something new - but...I just can't get over the spaceship looks.
