I use them only on the bikes I ride. If you are older, the cones on the back of your eyes don't work like they use to for light reflection. I use a 6,000 Kelvin (light wave length or frequency) bulb which turns everything white (reflection) or black (nothing there). The brightness is 3X that of a stockHalogen. The draw is 20 amps upon initial startup than it drops to 2.7 amps or 35 watts. This is ½ the draw of a 70 watt halogen. The top quality bulbs last around 20,000 hours and the stock Halogen (55 watts) last 150 hours and the 65 watt (both are Silverstar bulbs) last 100 hours. This information is easily found on Sylvania’s own web site. If you do a search on this subject you will find much information. If you have a H-4 socket I sell these kits for $239. They are very small and easy to put in. I warrantee them as well as guarantee them. You can call or go to my site for information. I give a customers satisfaction money back guarentee on everything I sell as it is the finest quality but not the cheapest. I do not deal in junk.

I seached for HID and found an old post I did.
Go to their web site: http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...ting/ECatalog/
Click onto this link: SilverStarÂŽ Halogens
Go to Line No. 3, P/N H4 ST, Design Watts: 55,Rated Life: 150
Or to the brighter Design on the next line, Watts: 60, Rated Life: 50
My facts used in this is going by the average of SilverStar ÂŽ Halogens printed material.
There is nothing wrong with any lighting. The lumens (footcandle) it produces and light frequency that the light source produces to distinguish contrast is the point. A rider who rides 100 hours at night using his headlight in three years has an option of upgrading or not. The tradeoff between cost/hours used would be the owners choice.

Hey zu we have a few of those deer problems up here in Wisconsin too. Before dumping a bunch of cashfor a HID set-up you should give one of these a try. Ive been running the 100 / 55 watt bulb's for over 25 years and they work great and they are only like $7.00. I like the 100 / 55's because on high beam they will throw light like you wouldn't believe but when you drop to low beam it wont melt the grill out of an oncoming car. The only problem is they don't work as well on the 05 and newer bikes with the funky reflector in the head light.

How do HID's handle vibration, My EVO isn't balanced and I replace alot of h4's. Anyone know if the HID's will burn out like the h4's? I am seriously thinking of going HID but I don't want to buy a bulb every 2 months.

In HID there is no filament. They are Zeon Gas with an igniter. They are unaffected with vibration unless you hit a car or a tree. No, I am not trying to be a smart ***, bit making a visual point.

I was thinking of the PIAA 35 watters as accessory lights. Still can't decide exactly where to put 'em. Probably opposite the highway pegs on an offset so I can still take the soft lowers off/on. Bracketing them directly to the sharknose is another thought. Anybody here put running/fog lights on a sharknose?
