Bikers are bikers, regardless. I am from Miami & I am convienced that we just tell our wives the same excuses or storys, just in a different language, to get out of the house and ride.
Havetravelled a lot of Cuba (I'm Canadian;eh?) and they're great people; a lot of cool old bikes and cars. Most of the old cars are actually powered by russian diesels now, though. Very crafty people; would like to see what they could make with more resources.....
If you wanna vist; better do it before the embargo ends. Guarantee it won't be the same long if 300 million Americans 90 miles away have easy access. Not a jab; just stating the obvious. Bring motorcycle magazines (NOT SleasyRiders; nudity frowed upon) they're as good as gold. Gave one guy a dealer key fob and he cradled it in both hands like it was a rare gem. I've tried to send magazines to an aquaintance there but got no reply so can only presume they never made it to him.
The article was about bikes of not so wealthy cubans (yes, there is such a thing as a wealthy cuban). Most would be classed "rat bikes" here, even if some others were in pretty good state.
