I have them on my bike (05 EG Standard, 18"x3.5 wheels). For alot of us that have gone the 18" wheel route, your only real choices are Metzler and Avon. I happen to like the handling on the Avons, and the longevity is quite good also (had them on my Buell, as well as my Lowrider when it was time for tire replacement).
The side walls are much easier to clean and they wear well. I also find that they don't track in grooves as bad as Dunlop's andthey really hug the road in all kind of conditions. The key though to any tire wear is watching the tire pressure. I also didn't like the dealer telling me all he would put on my bike was Dunlop's. So to be a rebel I took my business elsewhere!

I refuse to buy a tire from a company that cant SPELL tire. ( Tyre, stupid canadians[:'(]) Disclaimer: Before any of you Canadians get your panties in a wad, the above was a joke and not meant to be taken seriously! (stupid canadians[:'(])
Frankly, I hate the japanese-looking tread on the Avon Venoms. And functionally, I hate the fact that it's basically a slick with a few slashes on it. I had one on the back once, and it went to the cord a lot faster than a Dunlop.
