Default Lighting question

Just bought a new 2008 Streetglide, vivid Black. My wife is very concerned and wants me to beef-up the lighting to bemore visible, day and night. I am installing the auxiliary Running light/brake light/turn signal conversion kit, HD #(69461-06A) and the Auxiliary Lighting bracket kit, HD #(69818-06)not sure yeton the Lamp Blub. But here is the Big Question due to the price.Does anyone have any comments good or bad on the High Intensity Discharge Dual bulb Headlamp kit HD # (68094-063).
Guy's I have been a firefighterfor 30 years and safety has becomemore of anissue in our not-so younger days, because I have seen it all and then some.

Motolights are the best for visibility and look great on the bike. http://www.motolight.com/

Try out the silverstar headlights at autozone or murrys first they are only like 20 bucks and are awesome!!! for the headlight... for the extra lighting... i DO LED light kits on peoples bikes all the time for safety... really makes them glow and stand out! just safer! it really makes you stand out on the road and keeps your bike noticable in the parking lot... pls it looks cool as hell!

Streetglider, When I bought my Fatboy a few years ago this was my concern also. I tried the Silverstar, not much help. I found one of the Dual Bulb Halogen headlights on e-bay for $65.00 brand new in the box. There are 2 models depending on your lights trim package so be carefull if you get one. I got a million opinions but nobody that had ever actually put one in. I couldn't be happier. Great light and lots more distance and side light also. I uped each bulb 1 step.If I leave my bright on I get flashed from cars at about the same distance as in my truck and it's not because its not adjusted right, theres that much more light. I thought about the $500 bucker but cheaped out. I'm glad I did.

Hey 08,

On my last bike, a Heritage and my current Ultra I had switched out the clear spots for unfluted yellows. I think they tend to show up better to on-coming traffic. I think it makes people think about what the yellows mean. I have had a few people actually pull-over to the side of the road to let me by and a few pull back cutting me off . Plus when its kinda raining and foggy they seem to produce a bit more visability.

I stuck a high-output blue/white blub in the headlamp, no more than 80w output on high. More than enough light. The HID's are nice but, what they are like $500+, thats a lot of cake.

Thanks guys, its kind of like adding anything. i guess i will just have to make up my mind and just do it. If I spend all that money then I guess it will be different and the only one around like it. $$$$$$$

I also wanted to put additional lighting on my 08 UltraClassic in vivid black, so I added the rear view mirrors that have LED lights installed on the front, as well as a chrome strip across the faring at the base of the windshield that has four cluster/strips of LEDs. These are all tied to the lighting system, as well as the turn signals, and are primarily useful at intersections at communicating your intention. But once you get more than 50 feet from the front of the bike, you can't really see the LEDs, which are overpowered by the white headlights..

I added the H-D fog lamps to my Street Glide.

Didn't want to mess with the single headlight arrangement that sets the SG apart from the
rest of the touring class.

Less is more.
