Default Changing handlebars

Hi: First time HD owner. 07 FXDL. After riding a bit I would like the bars to be back closer to me. I thought that maybe the Street Bob bars would work for me. They have a small "rise" and I could pull the bars back a bit.Dealer started quoting over 1200,(twelve hundred) to change over a set of bars that costs $50. They said that it was nearly impossible. ?????? Why cant a the swap be done within a reasonable cost? Any ideas. Anyone else do something like this.
I'd post a pic of my bike, but I am not too computer literate.

Buy the bars and swap them out yourself. It is a simple job. You may need longer Brake line and clutch cable, but that will not be very expensive at all.

$1200!!! Find another dealer!!! Unless the bars you have chosen need all new throttle and clutch cables, break lines and electrical wiring, boy are you getting screwed. At the most, Harley shops charge 80 bucks an hour labor. It took me about an hour to change the drag bars on wife's nightrain to Psyco Chubbies, less than that when we first changed the bars on her fist Sportie. Get an idea of what bars you want, measure up and out where the grips will be, then take a look at the slack in your wiring, break lines and cables. Unless you are going really wild, there shouldn't be a problem.

good Luck!
