was going for a 1200 sportster but er indoors said to go bigger so I did and bought a Fat Boy why because it looks good and i am a fat boy.
Don't think I would have gone wrong with a night train either
I bought the 05 Fatboy because the price was right for what the guy had into the bike. Fast forward 10 months later.
Some A$$hole thief felt the bike had the right stuff also. GONE (What an empty feeling)
Found RK from private seller. He was going through a divorce and the bike was price right.
So now cruising the 03 Road King.
**Man, I look cheap after writing this, buying a bike because price is right. **
Went on the HD site in November 06, saw a picture of the Night Train and fell in love. Told myself that if I was ever going to buy a Harley that would be the one. In April of 07 I sat on a Night Train, loved it more. My buddy who was rideing with me on his Softail said to me " I dont want to pxx you off but I need to tell ya, deep down inside you would realy like to have a Harley" To which I comented. Are you buying?? I continued to look on that HD site and on a whim I said to my wife. Just for a chuckle lets go to that HD dealearship and see how much over my morgage it would cost to own a Harley. So I went to the dealership on my Yamaha Warrior and noticed that there were some metric bikes parked outside for Sale? This dealership took metric bikes on trade, this is the first HD dealer that I ran into that did this. Soooo after many years of riding metric bikes I traded my bike in for a Night Train. Without the trade for my bike I would not have been able to do it. In five months I put 10,000 miles on that bike and look forword to another 10,000 this season.
I never really "feel in love" with my Dyna... I bumped up from a Suzuki Intruder 1400, and although the ride was much more refined on the L-Rider, I was really un-impressed with the performance, and even though I knew I could get it more like what I wanted for another 4k was egnine work... It meant I never really connected with the bike, because I was always sort of dissapointed in it. Everytime I went back to the dealer I thought to myself, maybe I should have just gotten a VRSC...
Then one day I asked for a test-ride, and that was it.

I knew I wanted a RK and knew I wanted preferably the '03 Silver and Black. Brother saw an ad on a local website with one for sale. Cruised over to Fountain Hills, where the guy selling it had just bought an '07 Ultra. Right when I saw the '03 RKC I knew it was gonna be mine. Offered him 500 less than asking price, and it was done....got it the next day.
