Thats while if you plan on going with small cheaper parts like those you got from J&P your better off going to a shop that orders from drag, v-twin or custom chome and ordering them. thats always been my experience. most dealers dont get free shipping from those book because they order so much from there. I went to a harlwy shop to get a headlight Harley sells them for 80 from the hd catalog. Sitting next to the HD catalog was the drag book After looking at it for 2 mininuest I was able to fing one for 28 dollars. I then had to stop at another shop down the road to ask them if they have the Cam pullers and while thier their parts guy keeps 15 dollar headlights in stock from drag that will fit 5 3/4. Its all about knowing the books yourself once you do youll be able to save some MAD MONEY by going to shops that can get them too you without the shipping. Also I am a big proponent of Ebay and this site. I have had nothing but great thing to say about dealing with the classified adds in the forum.

I sympathize with the exhorbitant shipping costs. but fuel. labor, yadda, yadda, nuff said.
Guess we are in a better position, 3 of us get together, and each week we put our orders together for parts. As long as we order a minimum amount, depends on the supplier, we get FREE ship. Sometimes we'll go 2 or 3 weeks to get the order big enough. If you need the part pronto, bite the BIG one and order it, OUCH!!!
Dennis Jerk, OOPS Kirk (Momma used to work there, they treat employess worse than chit) is only 27 miles from my front door. When Momma there, got 25% discount, and they still handled Ol' Iron stuff. Check out the pan, lottsa shiny on there thanx to Dennis. But they have discontinued handling anything Pre-EVO, so don't shop there much right now. FYI- they are basically a Drag Specialties mail order clearing house.

I will never order from J&P again and I have spent a fortune with these guys. Ordered a Corbin gunfighter seat for my wideglide back in 2003. Seat would not stay in place and damaged my rear fender. Called customer service for a return. "WE Cannot Accept A Return On A Seat That Has Been Mounted". WTF how can you tell if it fits unless you mount it? Was told I would have to deal with Corbin. So I call Corbin and they tell me to return the seat to them for inspection. Returned the seat and 3 weeks later still no seat or phone call. Called for another 2 weeks they tell me it is being made each time. Finally receive it 6 weeks after the return and guess what? Wrong Seat! This time they offer to send me another seat immediately. To sum it up 7 weeks down time.
Scru J&P and Corbin. Why did you have to get me started?

Needed some o-rings[10]. J&P was going to charge memore for the o-rings in shipping cost then the cost of the o-rings. Two dollars in o-rings and about fifteen dollars in shipping. Prices could be a little off but not by much. This happened about three years ago. Did not order o-rings and haven't bought anything from J&P since then. They could have put a stamp on a brown envelope and kept a customer---but instead they lost a customer for life.

i have been buying parts thru the mail, over the web for a lot of years and i found out you got to do some research. i have delt with j&p with good results and i have delt with dennis kirk for a long time with good results and alot of other places from one coast to the other. and if you do some looking . most time you will find what you are looking for and at the price you want.but you can have good or bad with any of them alot of time it's just much are fault as it is there's because when you do that kind of ordreing it is'nt easy as you would think.and alway read the fine print. and double check and recheck. just my 2 cents but i do hope it helps anybody when they place a order.

I also have been buy parts for YEARS for bikes. I probably dealt with 10 vendors and about $10,000.00 in the last two years. You need to consider the cost of the item, how fast you need it and the shipping cost. JP Cycle is expensive but have 90% of the stuff is stock. Bought from Phat Parts and they have free shipping over $99.00 but never have anything in stock. Local guy and stealer if in a big hurry for small items. Ebay on specific deals. Shop around.
