Sure! The only posts that I'll scan are ones where two or more members are trading barbs. (Heather and TC comes to mind. )

Other posts that ask questions or offer opinions I read and consider before I reply. Some require no response or I have no answer or opinion but I may have learned something from the poster.

BTW; I never treat childern or chalanged people like that. Any humor from me would just be lost on them so I'll talk to them nicely and answer any questions they have to the best of my abillity.

Rhinohd - I don't recall anyone actually saying they were rude to any of these people. They are talking about experiences they have had, and none of the people they are talking about are being offended - because they are not reading the posts here in this forum. And in any cases where one of us WAS a smart-@$$ to a really dumb question - it's not the end of the world and usually - the person asking the question is clueless enough that they don't even realize we were being a smart-@$$.

You're more than welcome here, just like everyone else - but why give everyone participating with stories a hard time, instead of just ignoring the thread if you don't like the subject? If the subject of this thread bothers you that much, you are free to stop reading the thread at any time and let the rest of us enjoy it.

I work in tech as well...and deal with clueless people on a daily basis. Sometimes, being understanding and patient is EXTREMELY SUFFERABLE. Do you tell that to the person you are supporting? No. Is it stull sufferable and annoying at times? Absolutely. That's reality.

Being from Fla and living in the NE, everybody up here knows all about Fla. Its especially funny when the comment on such and such place and it obvious they haven't a clue.

Same thing on my bike, people come up to me all the time, telling me they had a bike just like mine, but had to sell it because[sm=icon_blah.gif][sm=icon_blah.gif][sm=icon_blah.gif] and then proceed to tell me that they miss their Sportser[sm=laughat.gif]

You gotta love the general public.
I just let them rant

Well put. [sm=smiley32.gif] I too work in IT and have had to answer some of what I consider the dumbest questions in the world.
I look at it this way - Ignorance is curable, Stupidity is forever

BTW - I checked out House of Rino and was treated to a bunch of photos of people flipping the bird. Now that's offensive. My mother taught me better. [sm=icon_rofl.gif]

I just took a peek too. I wonder if that is supposed to be a Rhino horn than the bird. [sm=smiley5.gif]

I just got back from visiting my Doctor and showed him the Ultra from the exam room window. He said "Is that a Honda?"[sm=icon_quiet.gif]
I just answered no and educated him.

I've had the same question when wearing riding clothes...."You got a Harley?" Most folks genuinely are interested but don't know if we actually have a bike or just own clothes. When you reply that you have, they always either say, I wish I had one or I remember when I had one. Those who are genuinely interested but naive, I'll take lots of time with them but if it's a Honda buttwad wanting to dis my bike, it's open season

I almost forgot this one.

I was parking for lunch one day when a guy on a filthy (dirty) honda beater pulls up next to me and starts checking out my bike.
He said - "Damn, that looks like high maintenance. How long does it take to shine all that chrome?"
I replied - "Can't say for sure. I usually stop when I can see myself everywhere I look".
