Hey all,
Looking to buy an open trailer soon for transporting bikes. I will be looking for a wooden floor, landscape/utility type, not an enclosed (too expensive). Wont be using it too much, just for jaunts to the beach and things (kids gotta go too!)
Anyways, my wife has a 883 and I have a Deuce. What size trailer would I need for this???
Would a 5x8 work or is that too tight? Someone on here must have one or can help me out.
Thanks guys!
I have a 6x10 Landscape type trailer with the rear ramp/gate. I installed removable Pingel wheel chocks and a utility box on the front to store tie-downs and stuff. Two bike fit great, I wouldn't go any smaller. Just be aware of the weight capacity of what ever you buy.
I have a 2 place snowmobile trailer. I use the Pingel wheel chocks, would like Condors, but $$$.2 bikes fit no problem whatsoever. In fact, 2 yrs ago, we had the chopper and 2 baggers on it. 2 baggers facing forward, (otherwise the fairings act like a parachute) and the chopper facing bass ackwards . But I do have 3000# ax under it. I use the fold up aluminum ramp, light and easy to store in van or truck. Plus I can haul lawn equipment on it to the kid's house as needed. I bought it used from the neighbor when he up sized, paid 325, and is still like "new".
I have a 6 1/2 by 10 which a 6 1/2 by 8 is plenty I just chose the larger because it didnt cost me but a few bucks more. I could use the space if I hauled stuff besides a couple bikes. Oh its an open trailer by the way.
Thanks for the opinions guys, I am looking to do something in the next few weeks. I would like to find something local and used, but new would work too.
I bought a used Kendon 2 bike trailer cheap. It's a great trailer and it folds in half and stores in the corner of the garage. But you can add chox to just about any trailer.
i have a 5x8 tilt trailer. I can get my fatboy and my dads nomad (bagger) on it. BUT its a tight fit.. and the tilt kinda blows when loading 2 bikes.. might wanna look for a ramp style
