If any one is looking for advice on chaps, let me tell'ya---I cut mine off to make shorts out of them. With the short chaps on, fingerless gloves, my vest and white golf shoes? Well, what more can I say? I keep my putter strapped on the back rack.

Anyhow, why don't you just get some silicone and glue a thin patch of leather to the bottom side of the shifter. That or as suggested above, use the wrong way around one.
