Please let us know what he says when you tell him you're on your way with a wad of cash. I think I'll start a pool for how many seconds he stays on the line. I got $50 and 3 seconds!
I was looking on ebay at a similar deal.I called the cops to run the vin and the bike came up not stolen.Luckily the officer verified who the bike was registered to.I looked up his phone number and called him,he was surprised to find his bike was for sale.WE talked for a while and found the pic of the bike was taken at a rally. That probaly how they got his vin
Its a scam just like the nigerian bank scam for 2 million.
You see this in craigslist all the time. If you have time I just tell the jerk I am interested and waste their time with endless requests and sharper pictures, warranty questions and so on. Then just before I am to wire money I tell them that I will be in the town that the bike is at for business and request an inspection.
They are jerks.
Just remember you can't get anything for free. $3800.00 for a $15000 bike is just a scam. But have fun screwing with the jerks it fun.
Scam. Contact him and tell him you have a relative near where the bike is and he'll take a look at it for you and see what his reply is. Bet you he'll have an excuse why it can't be seen. There are lots of bogus escrow accounts out there also. I don't see any SafePaY escrow on the internet.
SCAM
SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!!! I have found similar ads in our local newpaper, on Kijiji (an on-line bargain finder, if you don't know...), etc. The only thing that will be kept safe will be the thief's identity. You'll be out the $$$, and will never see the bike. It doesn't exist. I've seen this for Harleys, BMWs, Gold Wings, Dodge Challengers, etc. Always an unbelievably low price, with a promise to ship the bike/car to you, give you two weeks to check it out, and if you don't like it, contact them, they'll cheerfully refund your money (no questions asked of course) and just swing by your place for the vehicle. As "they" say, "If it is too good to be true, then it probably is." This is complete bullshiite. Avoid like the plague!!!
