If you go to a local dealership that gives the MSF you can probably get the dimensions from their parking lot. I know at our local dealership they'll let you use their course if a course isn't going and it's all already painted out for you.

Hobbes2,
It looks to be about 20' wide and 60' long. Thedashed outer linemakes it 24' wide.Dimensions are fromthecourse layout diagram #4 on the MSF website:

Don't know how standard these tests are from state to state, but in IL all the tests are done in a 30' x 75' box. The U-turn portion of the test, which is what we tested our figure 8s in, was 24' wide for 500cc or larger cycles and 20' wide for under 500cc.

The MSF U-turn Box for the skills evaluation is 20' by 40'. There are two variations; for the initial training exerciseit is 24' by 40' and for the ERCit is 28' by 40'.

you will most likely be surprised at how many of your riding buddies with lots of miles under their tires will not be able to do these drills at slow speed without a lot of practice time. Please give them ample warning that they may well drop their bike. I suggest starting them off on big circles and eights and working down to the prescribed test size.

im pretty sure the info you need is on padmv.gov thats where i got it 2 years ago. i took the last test on a friday before they shrunk the box on monday. that happened by luck. but i know the box was shortened. if you live in philly you can go to island ave after hours and walk the course yourself.
