· I just got my e-mail confirmation from NO NAME CITY campground. My brother and I plan on leaving August 2 and leave out from Sturgis to go home probably the 10th of August. We also going to try to get Iron Butt Association pin going up there.
I will be there and cant wait. My brother and I will be staying at the Custer state park resorts. They are the only place we found that dont jack up prices during rally week. I think they still have units open so you might check them out.
A friend stayed at Elk Creek last year. I went to visit. It seems like a nice place. They have entertainment, daily bikers breakfast, NICE facilities. It is very close to the highway, so you do get some noise, but not bad. The only thing I saw that was not good was the lack of shade trees. It is very open. It can get hot. There are a few spots that are shady, but I suspect that those are known about and already taken. FWIW.

The main area is like that but out back they have another camp called the back 40 that has trees and is farther from the hiway and quieter.
I'm very lucky guys! A handful of us are riding out from St. Louis this year. I normally bust my rear traveling for work during the year. All the hotel nights add up so now I get to go to Deadwood for free and stay in a comfy hotel. I was told they book 53 weeks ahead of time and will book up that first week.
I'll let my buddies know about Elk Creek. Right now, I think there are probably 6-8 people cramming into my room.
Yep we will be going up from Tucson. Went last year and the riding was phenominal. Staying at the KOA in Custer. Will be there the week befor for the riding and then a few days in town. I dont drink anymore but it is still a great thing to be seen and experiance.
