Ok - I have things I want to do to the bikes, but I work all day and have to fit tinkering in between getting home and hitting the sack. Problem is, all I have is car-port space, so I have to work basically out in the elements. No room, no lights, no privacy. No flat floor either. Now it's dark and close to freezing out, and I am stuck here TRYING to ignore what my lady is watching on TV - American Idol. In spite of things, I managed to install the new highway peg mounts and get them adjusted equally I think. (o:
Someday soon I am gonna sell this condo and buy a house with a garage. I may not care if it has a bathroom, but it damn well will have a nice big garage with a flat floor and good lighting and bench space and a door to close. I'll have a heater in the winter and a fan in the summer. Fridge full of sodas, and a radio playing - unless I use the radio on the Ultra - man, that can pump out the volume. Just my luck tho, when I get a garage, I won't have squat to do on the bikes.
Ok, rant over. Thanks for letting me vent. I know things could be worse.

If you got sliding doors in the dining or living room...............instant garage. Then you can tinker while she watches her shows....quality time all around

I know it wont help with being able to work on your bike when you want but try cycle shelter for protection. its a stationary storage thingy that you might b able to use in the mean time.

RE: A "no garage" rant
I'm retired, wife will be pulling the plug soon. A couple of years ago we had our retirement dream home built in Arizona on the Colorado River. I had a 1200 sq ft (30 X 40) Heated and Air Conditioned garage built. 5 banks of fluorescent lights, air, water, and power all on pull down reels in the center of the garage. 4 electrical outlets on each wall, stereo, TV, satellite and DSL all wired to the work bench area. 2 drains in the floor, and soft water hose bibs on both side walls. Even have a 3200 cfm portable cooler if I want to work with the door open. Had to compromise and couldn't put in a lift, garage is under the back part of the house, not enough ceiling height. Couldn't put in a pit, too close to the river.
We figured I could 'tinker' my butt off in that garage and she could play on her computer without me bugging her.
Get one of those storage units for 30-90 days. My girlfriend has one for her stuff, and one day I went with her to help her and I heard music playing. My curiousity got the best of me and I went around a corner, and some guy had a boom box going, and was working on his car there. Looked like a pretty nice setup also, he had a recliner, TV, toolbox, I was actually wondering if he lived there!
Trey--It doesn't matter if you get a garage. You will just fill it up and want a bigger one. When I retired I thought that 1,500 sq. ft. with 600 sq. ft. of loft storage was enough but look. 6 cages and four mc's plus crap. I'm out of room.
Thats funny cause thats how it goes. No matter how much space you think you need it fills up quick. I have a2 story barn....full! Bikes, tools and tool boxes, tractors, old furniture, trailers, lawn mowers, chain saws, paint, ladders, weightlifting equipment etc.... No room for cars.
