MSF Always full! Other options?
2kanzam,
You said... "...and I've talked to my dealer and they have said nothing about any sort of courses...." If you're talking about HD of WV in South Charleston that's probably true. They've never mentioned anything to me either. However, Triple S in Morgantown does offer Riders Edge courses and it may be something to look into. Yes, it's a bit of a haul to get there and certainly more expensive but might be worth it.
The book Proficient Motorcycling is well worth the investment. I bought mine a couple of years ago through Amazon and am just about finished reading it for the third time. TxDeuce got his at Barnes and Noble and that's always an option. They may have to order it for you. The "Ride Like a Pro" DVD and some of the other titles are also an excellent source of information. I'd highly recommend them.
If you prefer not to buy send me a PM and I'd be happy to loan you both the book and the DVD since we're just a few miles from each other. You'll have to give me a few days to dig out the DVD as I just moved down to Belle from Clarksburg and it's still in one of the boxes in my garage. [sm=confused06.gif]
Ride safe.
Oh yeah. Learning all about riding. 40 some years ago I learned all the moves from dirt, trail, woods, hill climbing, stopping, falling, balancing, scraping, leaning, sliding, not hitting things. THEN you can go on blacktop with skills to stay out of trouble and do the fun stuff like curves.
Are you insinuating that the MSF instructors are volunteers?

I can assure you that they are not, and are, in fact, very well paid. And they earn every dime of it.
