Just a quick question. I'm on another site and I hear that a lot of BT riders put down Sporties...Is this true and why would anyone put down another man or womans bike? I'm pretty new to the Harley Davidson family but when I read some of the postings on the other site I feel like a Bastard step child. Just wondering.

RE: Sportsters
A Harley is a Harley is a Harley. I do razz people on 'de-badged' Hondas or Yamahahahahas. Wannabe's and posers.
A lot of girls I know ride Sporties......
Sorry, had to do that. I rode one, liked it. Anyone bad mouthing you is just jealous. Remind them their bagger is just a fat Sportster with a lot of unnecessary crap hanging on it. You didn't buy your bike based on trunk space and accessories. If you wanted windshields, farings, radios, and cruise controls you would have bought a car. Softails and Dynas, just a Sport on steroids....get the message?
Ditto on A Harley is a Harley. Used to be Sportster riders picked on the BT guys calling them old geezer bikes, but you'll not find ANY of that talk around here! We ride and enjoy talking about riding Harleys, well then there is the off-topic. Tim

First of all, fill me in, what's a BT rider..."bad teeth"?
Now then, about the sportster..a real motorcycle is supposed to be LEAN, MEAN and SOULFUL. The sportie has it in spades.jmo

Ride what you want because you want it and don't be influenced by anyone else's opinion. The only person that you have to answer to is YOU. Like a lot of us here, my first Harley was a Sporty. It vibrated, the seat was like riding a brick on a 2x4, the gas tank was small, and on and on, but I loved that bike, still wish I had it as a second. It had character. Along the way I rebuilt a '64 XLCH, now that one you could keep, drum brakes, kick start, magneto, but in looked cool.
My point is that there is nothing wrong with a Sportster. If you want one, that's all you can afford to start, whatever, ride it and enjoy.
i rode sportys for yeras picked up my first big twin 10 days ago 06 dyna I liked sportsters was why I picked it over the soft tail
Beautiful ride. That would have been my choice had I traded up. As it is I love my 05 1200C and will keep it. BT stands for big **** and I don't want man ****.
