Redhawk... EIS is fine. Just avoid OIS. I know the Samsung SCX-105L well. Can compare notes if interested. Use it on dual sport rides when roads are kinda rough. I velcro the bulletcam to the side of the helmet and tuck the camcorder into a pocket. The Samsung has its opportunity areas but its small and unique form factor are big plusses. Can provide links to a couple of 105L videos if interested.
Yes, I would like to see some of the videos. I took mine out earlier & strapped it to the headlight bracket. The video was great, but it would only do a few seconds & then skip to another part of the ride. Didn't tape the whole ride, not even sections. Is there something wrong with the cam or is it in the setup?
I am thinking about videotaping our HDForum ride to BikeWeek carrying the Mascot. I would like to know how I post my finished video on the forum. I am not quite up to speed on internet video posting.
SKJOLD, After recording the HDForum ride and you have a finished video, you can choose to place it at a number of free/public video hosting places. One would be at video.google.com and another at putfiles.com. Someone placed my "Been Here & There" video at putfiles and it has taken on a global life of its own... http://media.putfile.com/Ive-Been-Everywhere-Man This link will take you to the vid but more importantly from the page you can register and have a free putfiles account.

Hmmm... not sure why skipping would happen. You connected the bulletcam to the headlight bracket and fed the camcorder, or connected the camcorder to the bracket? Only time my recordings would stop would be when turning the cam off accidently, running out of battery juice, or media storage space, but don't think any of these are the source for your skipping. This things is a sport cam, built for active use. Let me think about it. As a test, try recording separate from the bike, and shake the cam while recording. See if the situation can be duplicated.
I always use this cam for recording from the helmet. Vecro the bullet cam to the side, and tuck the camcorder in a pocket. I have a friend who uses it as you did... placing the bullet cam directly on the bike. Somewhere he placed images showing how he did so. I PM'd him asking for the link/permission. Anyway, these aren't H-D but you'll get a sense for what is possible with this camera...
So when you use this sports cam, download it on the comp, you can burn it onto a dvd correct? this way you can have a record of the whole vaca?
Yes, this is possible, but there are better cameras if this is the intention. This sports cam is good for ride videos but after 21 minutes of higher resolution recording the 1gb memory stick fills up and the video must be downloaded to a computer, then deleted off the sportcam's memory stick for more recording. Additionally, the quality is not near as good (For DVD creation) as a run of the mill MiniDV camcorder.... which you can record to a 60 minute tape, and always have the tape as backup. Will note... camcorders writing directly to a DVD also do not work on motorcycles... the high frequency vibes cause write errors.
Anyone have any thought on the new Sony DCR-HC96? It can use an external power souce where you can plug the power directly to your cigarette lighter. Additionally, you can use an external mic to eliminate road noise. Also, this video camera uses the miniDV cassettes which may be a nice thing to combat those high freq viberations on the bike.
Yea, they claim that it is somware over the ocean. Probably unloads in Rotterdam Holland to be transpored by truck to Sweden?! Any month now I'll get it. No they have narrowed it down to weeks now.
