Default Need Hardware Source

Anybody know where I can find Rivnuts or Nutserts from a local (retail) supplier? They're allover eBay, but I'm trying to find a retail supplier in the Chicago area. I tried NAPA and Home Depot, but no luck. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the feedback. I sent Fastenal an email. They're not too far from me, but I don't know if they deal with the general public. I'm using the fasteners to securechrome plated hoop style roll bars in an '86Corvette convertible. The roll bars arefor show.I don'twant to weld them in position. I want to useRivnuts / Nutsertsbecause the underside of the surface I want to mount the bars on cannot be accessed to install a nut andlock washer.

Let me know if you can't get them. I've been in parts for 25 years (fire truck, computers, forklifts)and will see what I can do. Have a lot of friends in. Let me know a size and how many. Look under Rivnut in the McMaster for an idea.

Check the yellow pages for a manufacturer of storm doors.

Most used to sell a low cost hand gun, and rivnuts.

So installers could replace rivnuts on the job.

just a suggestion, may be worth a phone call

If you need just a few installed you might try a handicap lift installer in your area. We use them all the time for odds and ends. If you pre drill the holes they might install them pretty cheap.

Good tip. I located a Grainger branch close to home. They said they'll set up a one time sales account for the general public. I'm heading over there today, so hopefully things will work out. I can't believe how hard these inserts are to find! Most hardware stores and home centers have never heard of them!

Updated to say thanks to SaltyBagger. Grainger sold me the parts, plus I got a discount by using my company's name.
