JUST THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE MY EXPERIENCE W/ANDREWS PRODUCTS. LAST YEAR I REPLACED MY CAMS,LIFTERS, AND ADJUSTABLE PUSH RODS ALL FROM ANDREWS. WAS SATISFIED W/ MY PURCHASE.( MY INDY RECOMMENDED IT.) THIS YEAR BECAUSE I CANT LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE, PURCHASED BIGGER CAMS FROM ANDREWS. DURING THE REPLACEMENT PROCESS I MUCKED UP THE ADJUSTABLE EXHAUST PUSH ROD. REALLY SCREWED UP THE THREADS. IF U DONT KNOW THEY ARE 5/16 NEF 32 TPI. THIS TYPE OF TAP AND DIE ARE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND IN THE FROZEN TUNDRA. SPENT MOST OF THE DAY TODAY LOOKING AND ASKING. CALLED MACHINE SHOPS, SUPPLY HOUSES, EVERYTHING. EVERYBODY HAD TO ORDER THE TO THE TUNE OF ABOUT $60. SO JUST ON A WHIM I CALLED ANDREWS IN ILL.THE NICE GIRL SAID THAT THE TECH PEOPLE WONT BE THERE TILL 300PM CST. SO I WAITED, CALLED @ 3 AND GOT "JOHN". TOLD HIM MY PROBLEM AND HE SAID NO PROBLEM AND WOULD SHIP ONE OUT TOMORROW NO CHARGE. COME TO FIND OUT I WAS TALKING TO JOHN ANDREWS HIMSELF. NOW THATS CUSTOMER SERVICE. TO TALK TO THE OWNER. I AM NOW FOR SURE LOYAL TO ANDREWS PRODUCTS. SORRY ABOUT THE CAPITAL LETTERS I HAD IT ALMOST ALL WRITTEN THENNOTICIED AND WASNTGOING TO REWRITE THE WHOLE THING.
Thanks for the heads up. Its always good to hear who stands behind their goodies. Let us know how it turns out. BTW try not to type the whole thing in caps, in computer lingo it means your yelling.
THANX FOR THE POST, LUMPY!!!! j/k with the caps. Saw your "correction".
It is great to hear when we are satisfied or someone does things "right". I've got Andrews cam in the pan. No idea what is in the shovel, just got it this winter, and not opening it up til next winter or when it "blows", whichever comes first. Hopefully it will carry my butt for the season w/o major hangups. Can't afford that right now.
I've had positive experience with Andrews and their products. They've been around a pretty long time as well. I'm using them in the motor and trans on a 69 shovel.
