Living here in South Florida, I have to agree with your decision. Weswim inour (unheated) pool about 8 months a year. (Tourists swim year round). Since you already have a nice bike, the pool is the way to go.........plus it will keep Mama & therug ratshappy.
Married ? Well your wife needs Xbone ! Good choice on your part actually . I have done this with my Fatboy and and decided I will always keep it . Wonder why I cannot do that with vehicles ?
It is even worse for me. My bike is an '05 rk custom (with a carb). It is paid for, and I do love the crossbones. Everytime I go into the dealer, I am tempted. I chose the king because it is a good bike for the wife and I to ride on... it fits us well. Well, my wife passed her riders course a couple weeks back, and has an old bike that her mom gave her as a starter bike... so, no need to have a good two up bike, LOL. Thing is, it is paid for, and I really do not want a payment... besides, I have a feeling that the wife will tire of her starter bike soon enough, and she will want her own Harley... no way we would want to float two payments... The real bummer is, she hates the crossbones, so I can not talk her into it... she likes that d@mn softail deluxe... of well...

RE: almost got into debt bigtime
Almost the same story....sort of
In December wife and I rode out to Lancaster Harley to pick up our 'free 08 calendars. To make a long story short, an hour later andaround $42,000.oo we were the proud owners of an '08 E-Glide and its little sister, an '08 Deluxe. I loved my '03 WideGlide, she also loved her '04 Nightrain. Since they are both paid for, we kept both of them. Still have her first Sportie, and my Rigid. Can't have too many Harleys.
Major difference in our situations, our youngest is 30, I'm retired and we have no debt.
