Default Bluetooth Headset

I know, riding and talking is not the best practice, but I have the need to be available for my Wife while riding. No I 'm not whipped, she has MS and needs assistance at times.

Do any of you use a phone with a bluetooth headset under your helmet that is voice activated?

CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW????? It's going to be a challenge at best and I understand what you are trying to do but please at least consider this. Cell Phones are dangerous enough driving a cage. A lot of days I can ride but only if I keep in touch with work etc... The only way I have found so far is to keep the phone on vibrate and safely pull over when I get a call. In your case especially if your wife needs assistance you could be pulled over, asses the situation and then react to it in a safe manner - If you try to do all that and continue to ride it's very risky

I agree with Kess to keep the phone on vibrate. I also have the benefit of having a Blackberry so I can play hookie from work and the office/clients can still get a hold of me. Most people in the business world I deal with prefer email these days. Nothing better than being at a scenic overlook on your Harley and returning email. Technology has it's benefits.

I tried the bluetooth once and it was ok up to about 20-30mph, then the person on the other end just heard the wind blowing into it. Vibrate-pocket-pullover-talk

No problems. My mate at work has one for similar reasons, and he reckons it' s great. With the one he has the mic volume automatically adjusts for ambient wind noise etc. and has some techno-magic filtering system to make the clarity excellent at both ends. He does use a full face helmet though.

Found these. The first one would be my choice.

Obviously HD is finding new ways to make money and so they thought it would be great if the audio system had bluetooth technology. Personally I love bluetooth in my car, but not on my bike. There are already enough distractions as it is.
