Default Brake Drag

Well this is my first post and introduction to HD Forum. I have an '07 Ultra Classic that I stripped down and re-painted. As a result I removed the two front brake calipers rather easy, no big deal, and supported them properly until I re-installed them. Well had a brain fart andIpulled the brake leverwhile moving the bike while the brake calipers were still off. So...you guessed it I went to put them back on therotors and the pads were comprised. There is alot of pad left and I was able to back them off and fit them onto the rotors.I reassembled everything and with the bike still on lift I attempted to rotate the front wheel. I found that there is quit a bit of drag, got about 1/2 rotation. No I did notdo this before I took the brakes off so I have to reference to how freely the front wheel should spin.

My question is, isthis normal or how freely should this rotate. If not good any ideas on how to remedy.

Signed......."Momentary Brain Fart"

Normal. The pads will ride against the rotor all the time. If you never touched the front brake, they would still be warm to the touch.

+1. Harley brakes surprisingly drag a lot in normal operation. Proof is in the ride. If you can't tell any difference now than before, your OK. If a difference is noticed, you have to dig some. Maybe a piston is hanging up some.

Since the caliperswere actuated without the rotor in place, did you bleed the calipers to remove any potential air in the system?
