Default Footprints on pipes, what will remove them

So I was just in the garage and notices foot prints on my bikes pipes.Childs sneaker foot prints, melted on to be exact.

Looks like my nephew touched his foot on them when I stopped at my sisters.

ANybody know a good way to get it off? I have chrome polish that I use but I dont think it will get off the burnt shoe rubber.
I Don't want to just start using all kinds of cleaners I have lying around so I thought I'd ask you guys.
I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem

Hi I had some boot rubber a few years back on the pipes also. I ended up using Never dull. (nevrdull?) comes ina silver can and is cotton batting soaked in some sort of solution. It took a bit of elbow grease to get it off, but it did work. Just keep rubbing it with alot of pressure and it will slowly come off.

I am still pretty new, but I caught a suggestion in American Iron Magazine, and have tried it for myself: Easy-off Oven Cleaner. I sprayed it on cold pipes and let it sit overnight and rinsed it off the next day. Most of the molten shoe rubber came right off except for a particularly heavily area. I am not sure why it didn't work on that spot, but I just carefully cleaned it off with a razor blade. If you go this route, be sure to protect any painted surface, your wheels (if alumn.), and your tires!

Yes, I have heard oven cleaner does work, but haven't tried it. Do be careful with any overspray.

I just read about the oven cleaner, I geuss you supposed to have the pipes warm when you do it and it works better.
If you do it while they are still really hot from riding it cooks off before it has a chance to work

Try WD40 before the oven clean. No-kiddin.

I tried that first. Didn't do anything on my V&Hs.

Warm it up and just rub it like crazy with a 100% cotton towel, it will come off. Keep flipping the towel as you go.

Buddy, your lucky it wasnt the kids skin you have to get off the pipes. I heard a story (ya ya I know about stories) where the kid not knowing about bikes jumped on a guys pipes bare footedand, well you know the rest.
When I park it around kids theses day I always give them and there care givers the low down on hot pipes. I'd hate to see a kid get hurt that way.
