Don't know how you Brits are working it out but fuel is approx £1.12 per litre in th UK
4.5 litres to the UK gallon = £5.04 per Gallon.
US Gallon is a little smaller approx 0.8 of the UK gallon so £5.04 x 0.8 = £4.03
Appox 1.9 dollars to UK Pound = 1.9 x 4.03= $7.66 per gallon
So there you have it we are being ripped off to the tune of $7.66 per gallon of fuel in the UK
I would not mind paying your prices at all !!!!!!

Yeah, I keep hearing it's the speculators who are causing the high prices, but then again look at the profits big oil made last year. They aren't innocent by any means.

When the media talks about oil company profit they only talk about raw dollars, not the actual percentage that dollar amount represents. No one would blame a company for making a 6% to 9% anual profit, no that doesn't get the masses all worked up.

$2.5 a liter for ultra unleaded here in good old uk same for derv! we got 2 jeeps 2 hd i drive a semi for a job & the little girls 17 next year & will want a car as well

Just paid my all time highest yesterday,3.95 a gal. last summer hit 3.81 soooooo here we go!
