Every year at the Riding Into History Concours, I marvel at the Brit bikes. There are some fine Harleys, BMW's, Ducatis, Hondas,....., but the Brit bikes always leave bikers with glazed eyes and gaping jaws. Triumph doesn't seem to have captured that samefeel in their new models, but they aredoing well.
I don't think there is a manufacturer out there that can capture the same feeling in a new ride as the classics. I love modern Harleys. Obviously I wouldn't own them if I didn't, but they are not the same as my grandpa's knuckle. I think that Triumph has done a great job with their line of vintage looking bikes.

I forgot to mention earlier how much I really want to try the Rocket III. In fact, I don't know if I can think of another bike I'd rather tryout. It ain't pretty, but that thing sure is bada$$.

I have an 04 Thruxton. It's a blast to ride, and yes, gets WAY more attention than my Harley.
That is often the case when I go riding with my buddythat rides the Speedmaster. I was always used to getting most of the attention when I rode with other people... until he got that bike. People see Harleys every day, but I've only seen another Speedmaster maybethree or four timesin thesix months since he got his bike.

The first "Big" bike I ever rode on was a '69 Bonnie. My old man had me on the back of that thing flying around curves as fast as he could as I was trying to hold onto that friggin' slippery chrome grab bar with sweaty hands. Some of the best rushes of my life. Even though his ended up being a chopper project after he had wheelied over, I always liked the lines of the Bonnie. What cracks me up though is the guys I hear saying that they wouldn't ride a "Half-a Harley Sporty" saying how they'd love to get a Bonnie. Er, ok, I guess. I wouldn't mind having a Bonnie next tomy E-glide. But I'm also picking up our, I mean, the wife's Sporty tomorrow. If the local Triumph dealer ever has a demo day, I'm there.

I test rode a Rocket III Classic in my search. I really liked it; better than the Japanese bikes I had ridden. Then I got a chance to ride the Fat Bob and that made up my mind. Though, you can see why I liked the Fat Bob if I liked the Rocket III Classic....

It looks like you just need to tweak the mirror and your done.
I would love to have the room to restore an older Triumph. I also had a Triumph chopper. You will have to click on the picture to get it big enough to see it.
