The automotive oil has nothing to do with your issue!!! You have another issue,my guess would be if it did not do it beforeyou change the oil. Then youeither over filled the bike, by not checking the oil correctly or you have the wrong or defective oil filter. I had a customer come to me and he had just had his oil change at another facility and was burning/using oil like crazy. He was touring with Korn....manager brought the bike in and left it for a motor. Long story short, I got some details on the how's, why's and when's....... told him to have a seat. Change the filter and off he went. Problem solved.
If one can't use car oil in motorcycles for engine then whydoes a vast amount of HD owners use Mobil 1 15w30 synthetic with no problems? That is a car oil, or Castrol GTX 20w50 a car oil these folks obviously haven't had any problems or they wouldn't use the car oil. EVOengines are a bit different if it is an EVO. Here's a good suggestion, find a good service manual, perform an oil change by the book, clean the air filter or replace it. Might be a good idea if a indy shop will check out your carb settings. Could you let us know what they find.. There's also an oil screen just to the rear of the cam chest it might be plugged up.
Sothat's why my two Karmann Ghias never got close to 100,000 miles before diing. I forgot about that.

I always thought MC oil was made for the higher temps of air cooled engines. I don't think a water cooled engine runs anywhere near the temp a MC runs. I wouldn't put car oil in my mc or lawnmower. I could be wrong but won't take the chance.
Yep, you're wrong. Reckon all those VWs and Porsches used mc oil?
