What a load of B.S.

So unless i undersdtand the meaning of life or get my Zen on everytime I ride, I am somehow not a "motorcyclist". what a load of crap.
Well, I don't think it's a total load of crap. It's a bit heavy-handed, kinda reads like student work. But, not a bad read at all. I'd love to meet a "motorcyclist" who really spoke like that, like Hemingway-meets-Melville, as long as my coffee came with free refills.

There's a short story like this in almost every outdoors pursuit, e.g. fly fishing, skiing, hiking v. ATV-riding....

But....."get my Zen on"......great line

Good Read.

Curious though, the reactions of our members.

Not a lot of middle ground. Generation thing perhaps? Hmmmmm

Nice story, Schu.... seems like some are missing the point.... it's just a story. I don't think it was being promoted as "biker gospel" ..... or was it?

This may not be the place for this but it reminds me of a joke,

what is the difference between a fairy tale and a redneck story?

Fairy tail = once upon a time

Redneck story = you aint gonna beleive this shi*

[blockquote]Author's note: In 1903, 24-year-old George Wyman became the first man to make an intercontinental crossing on a motorized vehicle -- he chose a 1.25 horsepower motor-bicycle weighing 90 pounds. Wyman packed and pushed the machine as often as he rode it, completing the trip in just 50 days. To my way of thinking, Wyman is perhaps the first true motorcyclist. The Motorcyclist[/b] is dedicated to George Wyman and all those who share his spirit.
