Number 1 Counterbalancing consists of a different crank ( Heavier crank than the A motors)

Number 2 More weight less power (thats why the B motors are in the soft tails not the touring bikes)

Number 3 Centrifigal force makes the B motors buzz thru the the floorboards due to the heavier crank

Number 4 A motors shake at idle , B motors dont

Number 5 As for The post that mentioned rubber mounted engines get more power to the ground how come MOROSO and tons of drag racers all run SOLID

mounted motors?

Number 6 Come to the table with some knowledge

I would take a vibrating motor over a counter balance any day. I grew up around old timers with stock and chopped Harley's that would rattle your fillings. If it doesn't vibrate, it is not my type of Harley. I love my rubber mounted 1200 Custom, even though I can't use the mirrors when I am stopped.

Long Live Evo Softails.

What counterbalancing? What missing vibes?
Must be some twinkie owners here. Vibration is an artform with the blockheads.
If it don't vibrate its broke.

Not So Loud!!!!! Take away that shake and there just might be a war! Literally, the shake is like the exhaust sound, all apart of the Harley Davidson mystique.Dog

I have one of each. Loveriding both of them equallybut I do like the shaking motor of the RK better than the stationary motor of my Heritage. The bike does vibrate at idle but the vibration dissappears at speed. Each bike is different and each is very enjoyable.

I've had both, my first bike a 1200 customhad the rubber mounted engine, my current Fatboy of course does not. I don't really care for one more than the other, and it had no factor in me choosing a fatboy, I just liked the way the softails look, especially the size of the fatboy. As long as it says Harley on the side its all good!
