My first Harley was purchased last june, an 05 1200 custom. Great bike, quick and a blst to ride.
But------- On extended rides you wont beleive how bad you **** will ache.
And if you ride to up it doesnt have enough suspension, or for me any how.
The super glide has a larger twin cam engine, 2 cams chain driven versus 4 gear driven.
The twin cam is quieter.
Heaverier bike and smoother ride.
I now am riding an electra glide classic, but would have rather started on a super glide or low rider.

If you are sure you will stick with it is the Super big enough? I got a StreetBob and love it...but if I had to do it over now I would have spent a little more and got the Street Glide.

I'm going for a used Super Glide. Now for the reality check: The old lady has put a price cap on my spending. A new scooter with the necessary upgrades (pipes, saddle bags, saddle) will fall outside of that limit.

Are there are particular issues to be aware of when shopping for a used bike in general and a Super Glide in particular?
I am interested in something between 2000 and 2007 model years, do any models in that time frame have any problems or advantages to keep in mind (i.e. the 2004+ Sportsters are rubber mounted engines)?
